Data and knowledge management in an automated enzyme characterisation workflow: an industry perspective
Advancements in biological system engineering have introduced new data challenges in biotechnology. These challenges are even more pronounced when high-throughput robotic systems are used in screening and manufacturing. While academic projects and use cases have enabled progress in data management, industrial systems face distinct challenges related to data sharing, security, and process verification. This project aims to investigate industrial data sharing challenges.

For Information
New members of the ELIXIR Industry Advisory Committee (IAC)
At its meeting last week, the ELIXIR Board appointed two new members to the ELIXIR IAC.
We are happy to announce that both Helena Saunders (Syngenta) and Richard Finkers (GenNovation B.V.) have accepted to join the IAC. We look forward to working with them going forward.

This week's highlights
Expression of Interest for Human Data Communities Steering Group
ELIXIR would like to invite an Expression of Interest for funding four Members for the Human Data Communities Steering Group to support the development of the ELIXIR strategy, ensuring alignment of external and internal projects for the area of Human Data and Translational Research as outlined in the ELIXIR Programme 2024-2028.
ELIXIR Cloud on Azure: Delivering Hybrid Cloud Use Cases based on the GA4GH Task Execution Service API Standard
The ELIXIR Cloud is an emerging ELIXIR Compute-based cloud infrastructure that delivers federated analytics use cases based on Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) API standards.
We have recently demonstrated how researchers can leverage ELIXIR Cloud services to deliver computational workloads across heterogeneous compute infrastructures (HPC, native cloud) at different ELIXIR Nodes via the GA4GH Task Execution Service (TES) API specification and its TESK (maintained by ELIXIR Compute) and Funnel implementations.
Bridging Academia and Industry with Training
How to reach the Life Sciences community beyond Academia, in Industry and in the Job Seeking Market, through training? Inspired by this question, ELIXIR, its German Node and BioNT, put together a bioinformatics training needs survey. Besides providing valuable input for the survey collaborators, the results of the survey directly impacted BioNT’s training. This project builds on the experience of the survey and proposes what could be the next step.
