Summary of ELIXIR Board meeting, 30-31 October 2023
Romania has joined ELIXIR as an Observer, following approval by the ELIXIR Board on 30 October 2023. Observer status enables the Romanian bioinformatics community to engage more deeply with other ELIXIR Nodes and facilitates transition towards full ELIXIR Membership, which is expected to occur in the coming years.

ELIXIR Industry Advisory Committee Teleconference
The annual autumn ELIXIR IAC TC took place on Wednesday, 11 October. The discussion included topics on industry landscape in genomics and healthcare research, as well as a presentation from ELIXIR Ireland on the Node's industry engagement activities.

A two-year ELIXIR-funded implementation study has made it easier for scientific computing centres to adopt and deploy container protocols and services. ELIXIRs latest news report on the work carried out to support container service providers, which aimed to establish services, processes and guidelines that align with community standards.
