ELIXIR Ireland represents national bioinformatics excellence within the ELIXIR infrastructure and provides a pathway for Irish bioinformatics resources to engage in European collaborations. The Node is a partnership of five organisations across the country, coordinated from the University of Limerick.
Its activities span a diverse range of priorities, including cancer research, advancing Ireland’s Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) and developing personalised medicine through machine learning. ELIXIR Ireland also supports microbiome research, pathogen data analysis and agricultural genomics, ensuring Ireland contributes to both human health and broader biosciences within the European life sciences ecosystem.
