ELIXIR-GOBLET Train-the-Trainer course (SEP 2025-10)

This Staff Exchange will support the delivery of an ELIXIR-GOBLET Train-the-Trainer course in Thessaloniki. The aim is to strengthen local training capacity within the ELIXIR Greece Node and expand the pool of trainers in an underrepresented Node.

The course will bring together trainers from multiple ELIXIR Nodes, including ELIXIR Greece, ELIXIR Germany and ELIXIR United Kingdom, supporting knowledge exchange and cross-Node collaboration. It will also provide opportunities to connect training outcomes to wider ELIXIR initiatives.

Training and RDM collaboration activities in Brazil (SEP 2025-11)

The ELIXIR Belgium and ELIXIR Switzerland Nodes will work together to strengthen collaboration between ELIXIR and Brazilian research organisations through a programme of events and training activities in Brazil. The Staff Exchange will support the delivery of ELIXIR training courses in both the northeast and southeast regions. Activities will include presentations at the Natal Bioinformatics Forum, as well as engagements at Fiocruz and the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

Machine learning in biochemistry Industry Engagement Day (INED 2025-02)

This two-day Industry Engagement Day in Prague will bring together academic researchers, industry professionals and students to explore how machine learning approaches are transforming biochemistry and related life science domains. Participants will gain insight into how advanced computational methods can be applied to real-world research and development challenges, with a focus on strengthening links between academic innovation and industrial application.

Aquaculture genomics and salmobase Industry Engagement Day (INED 2025-01)

This two-day event in Norway will bring together aquaculture companies and research groups to focus on how genomic data and tools can accelerate innovation in salmon breeding and production. Industry participants will learn how public research outputs, including genome assemblies, functional genomics datasets and analyses can be applied to real-world breeding challenges.

ELITMa Module 2 – supporting Node data management strategy development (SEP 2025-09)

This Staff Exchange will support the coordination and delivery of ELITMa Module 2, a key activity under the People tier of the ELIXIR Scientific Programme. ELITMa is designed to strengthen Node-level capabilities in areas such as governance, data management and strategic planning. Module 2 will take place in Tartu, Estonia, from 19–21 May 2025, followed by a co-located workshop with the Interoperability Platform on 22 May.

Bioinformatics and statistical skills training workshop (SEP 2025-08)

The ELIXIR Czech Republic Node and ELIXIR Estonia Node will work together to deliver a structured, hands-on training programme designed to strengthen bioinformatics and statistical competency among researchers. The initiative responds to a clear demand from Czech Node users to acquire the practical skills to analyse their own data more effectively and reduce dependency on commercial analysis tools.
