Hub updates

ELIXIR is starting the development of the 2019-2023 Scientific Programme. You will find more information, including the timeline on the ELIXIR website; we will also keep you informed about all the important milestones during the process.

The IMI project eTRANSAFE started last week. The project aims to improve the feasibility and reliability of data-driven translational safety assessment at all stages of the drug development. ELIXIR leads two Work Packages, on (1) Overarching policies and (2) Data interoperability and integration. More: http://www.etransafe.eu

The Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) Programme Office is pleased to invite ELIXIR to the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) Stakeholder Forum 2017, Brussels, 18 & 19 October. There will be sessions on Open Innovation, a Patient Forum, and a Microbiome Forum. The ELIXIR Hub will be attending.

Updates from Platforms

The ELIXIR Data Platform is now taking applications via the Request for Proposals for Implementation Studies in 2018. Applications must be made via the Head of Node and can be submitted until 31 October. Full details, including a timetable of the stages of the process, are included in the call documentation. A webinar will be held on 6 September to answer questions on the application process.

Updates from Nodes

ELIXIR-IIB, in collaboration with University of Rome Tor Vergata, is pleased to announce the upcoming ELIXIR-IIB/NETTAB training course: Tutorial on Biological Networks-data analysis, visualization and medical application on 18-19 October 2017, Palermo, Italy. ELIXIR Belgium together with Geert Jan Bex, KU Leuven/UHasselt is organising a Python for Data Processing course in Leuven, Belgium on 5 and 6 October 2017.

ELIXIR Belgium also organises Belgian Metabolomics Day on 29 September 2017 in Ghent. You can register online. The latest news from the Tryggve project is available in the August 2017 Newsletter (pdf).

EMBL-EBI is looking for Biocurator to join the Data Coordination and Archiving Team. The post holder will contribute to EU projects EMBRIC and ENVRI+ where EMBL-EBI represents ELIXIR.
