  ELIXIR-EXCELERATE

  A reminder of the upcoming deadlines we need to meet for ELIXIR-EXCELERATE, with the aim of starting the project on September 1st:07/05/2015 - First version of the grant agreement (incl. annexes)28/05/2015 - Signature of the participants' certified declarations of honour16/07/2015 - Signature of the grant agreementFirst half of July - Signature of the consortium agreement (due before grant agreement signature)Please do not modify any financial details or scientific content in the Participant Portal at this stage. The majority of information will be transferred from the original proposal, including work packages, deliverables, milestones, and description of work. The project cost tables will also be prepared based on the original proposal budgets. If there are any issues, we will clarify these directly with partners.A draft Consortium Agreement for the project will be circulated shortly.If you have any questions please contact Steffi Suhr (mailto:ssuhr@ebi.ac.uk) , who is project managing the preparation of the Grant Agreement for the project.

  2nd RDA - Infrastructure Projects Interaction Meeting, 26-27 May, Amsterdam

  Bengt Persson, Carole Goble and Rob Hooft (from the ELIXIR RDA pilot) will be representing ELIXIR in this workshop. If you have any comments or would like to highlight topics for them to bring up in the meeting, please contact them directly.   Report from the RDA Fifth Plenary Meeting

  The ELIXIR pilot action on RDA has produced a report from the RDA Fifth Plenary meeting (https://www.rd-alliance.org/plenary-meetings/rda-fifth-plenary-meeting…) that took place 8-11 March, San Diego.   Update from the ELIXIR TrCG

  ELIXIR - GOBLET joint training strategy has been agreed on by both ELIXIR HoN and GOBLET board and published on the ELIXIR website (http://www.elixir-europe.org/system/files/goblet-elixir_partnership-fin…) .TrCG will submit two training activities to the Hub in the coming weeks:1. Organize a workshop/hackathon to develop a method to successfully curate and reuse training material. This will be organized in collaboration with GOBLET and open to ELIXIR / GOBLET trainers. The focus will be on curation of material related to one of the EXCELERATE use cases.2. To strengthen node2node collaboration and knowledge sharing: Organize an e-learning workshop/hackathon to ensure the use of a common language and define a common e-learning strategy.   Exploring Plant Variation Data workshop

  EMBL-EBI is holding a Exploring Plant Variation Data workshop at Hinxton, 1-3 July 2015 focusing on current developments in plant data resources at transPLANT partner sites (http://www.transplantdb.eu) .   EMBL-EBI Webinar events which may be of interest to ELIXIR Nodes

  EMBL-EBI training is holding a UniChem walkthrough webinar on Wed 13th May as part of its ongoing EMBL-EBI webinar training series, which may be of particular interest to ELIXIR Nodes.   New Bioinformatics Masters Programme approved for Belgium

  This week our colleagues at ELIXIR-Belgium announced the approval of a Masters in Science: Bioinformatics by the Flemish government with the program will start next academic year.Further details about the announcement can be found here (http://www.nucleotides2networks.be/master) .
