Draft ELIXIR- GOBLET Strategy document issued
Heads of Nodes are asked to review the proposed ELIXIR - GOBLET strategy (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4WQQq4hwmbQckhaS0VFdHNGdm8/view?usp=s…) issued by the ELIXIR Training Coordinators following their recent F-2-F meeting at the ELIXIR all hands, and provide any feedback by next Friday 17th of April, before the strategy is published on the ELIXIR, ELIXIR-UK and Goblet websites.
Update from TrCG face to face meeting 31. March - 1. April 2015
The TrCG F2F meeting was informative and collaborative. In summary the following topics were discussed and agreed:* TrCG agreed on the ELIXIR - GOBLET joint training strategy draft.* Working group Survey (Sarah Morgan, Allegra Via, Brane Leskosek): Started* Node2node training collaboration: TrCG prioritised three topics that we would like to collaborate on and exchange knowledge in the near future: Teaching best practices, e-learning, Data Management Plan.* TrCG agreed on writing a TrCG pilot proposal to strengthen the collaboration between ELIXIR and GOBLET, this will be in a form of a workshop/hackathon.The minutes of the meeting can be found here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zppqZsepkOI4NEGwPou-3hsLowD8Ywm0rJT…)

Registration for next ELIXIR Innovation and SME Forum event now open
The next ELIXIR Innovation and SME Forum (http://www.elixir-europe.org/industry/supporting-industry-users) event will take place in Basel, Switzerland, on 9 June 2015. Organised by SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (http://www.isb-sib.ch/) and ELIXIR, alongside the successful Basel Computational Biology Conference (http://www.bc2.ch/2015/) , which runs from 7-10 June. More information about the event and link to the registration page can be found here (http://www.elixir-europe.org/events/innovation-and-sme-forum-basel-swit…) .Whilst primarily focused on a local target audience, these events are open to companies from any country.Please circulate this information to any companies you think might be interested.
Next event in the ELIXIR Webinar series

EMBL-EBI Impact assessment survey
EMBL-EBI has commissioned an independent survey as part of a study to assess the value and impact of EMBL- EBI services on the communities it serves.The study is important in a number of ways, but in particular, it will be useful in demonstrating to funding bodies and others the economic benefits of having freely accessible services and resources for research in the life sciences.The online questionnaire is accessible at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EBI_ImpactIt is estimated that the survey will take around 15 minutes to complete and will close on Friday 8th May 2015.The results of the survey will be anonymised and disseminated in aggregate only and all personal data treated as confidential.All participants who complete the survey are also given the opportunity to enter a draw to win one of five Raspberry Pi 2 with Pibow Cases.
