ELIXIR All Hands 2021

The 7th ELIXIR All Hands meeting took place as a virtual event 1-11 June 2021. The meeting brought together over 550 members of the ELIXIR community from across ELIXIR Nodes and collaborators from partner organisations. In a series of keynote sessions, mini-symposia and workshops, the participants reviewed ELIXIR’s achievements and activities and discussed plans for the future. Keynotes

The meeting featured two keynotes:

  • Doreen Ware (Agricultural Research Service, USDA and Adj. Professor at Cold Spring Harbor) on the challenges facing agriculture in the future, and the emerging opportunities for data science in this discipline
  • Kostas Glinos (Head of Unit, Open Science, European Commission) on the European Commission’s work to instigate a paradigm shift toward open science; you can find the recording of the talk online

COVID-19 panel discussion

The programme also featured presentations and a panel discussion on the COVID-19 Data Portal and other interdisciplinary initiatives, including the Population Health Information Research Infrastructure (PHIRI) for public health data and Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA) for social science data.
