Sharing good practice in Node development: ELIXIR-EXCELERATE Node development workshop

The first ELIXIR-EXCELERATE Capacity building and Node development workshop took place on 3-4 November 2015. Organised by ELIXIR Czech Republic and hosted by the Prague House in Brussels, the workshop gathered representatives from across the ELIXIR network to share best practices in developing effective organisation and governance for ELIXIR national Nodes.

Three well established Nodes - ELIXIR Switzerland, Netherlands and Sweden - presented their organisational and legal models, discussed the challenges in setting up a national Node. The participants also received an overview of the ELIXIR Nodes and their status in terms of adminstration and legal requirements of becoming ELIXIR Nodes.

The agenda also inlcuded discussion about national collaboration with other ESFRI Research Infrastructures, European Commission rules on Linked Third Parties and communication within and between the ELIXIR Nodes.

About Capacity Building and Node Development programme

The worskhop was part of the the ELIXIR-EXCELERATE Capacity Building and Node Development programme. The main focus of the programme is information sharing and knowledge exchange between ELIXIR’s larger and more established Nodes and newer or smaller Nodes in less research-intensive areas of the EU. Part of the EXCELERATE project, the programme is led by ELIXIR Czech Republic and ELIXIR Sweden.
