Participants in this Staff Exchange will focus on improving IT service management practices and supporting the operation of federated human data services in Sweden and Switzerland. Both Nodes are active in the European Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) and FEGA initiatives, and improving how services are organised and run will lead to more consistent operations across the network.
During the exchange, the Swiss Node will provide FitSM Foundation training and practical guidance to help the Swedish Node establish lightweight IT service management processes. Follow-up workshops will refine implementation plans and support the Swedish team as they apply FitSM within their GDI and FEGA services.
There will be a high level of knowledge sharing. The Swedish Node, which has been operating FEGA Sweden since early 2024, will outline how it manages submissions, researcher engagement and the Sensitive Data Archive (SDA) pipeline. These insights will help the Swiss Node as it prepares to launch and onboard FEGA Switzerland.
A final output of the exchange will be a short guide describing how federated human data nodes can adopt professional ITSM practices. The guide will draw on the experience of both Nodes and will be made available to other groups working in FEGA, GDI and related domains.
