BioHackathon 2018 Paris

Mon 12 November 2018, 09:00 to Fri 16 November 2018, 13:00
Campus des Berges de Seine, 1 Route de Beaulieu, 77240, France

ELIXIR France with the support of the ELIXIR Hub and the ELIXIR Interoperability Platform and in collaboration with the National Bioscience Database Center (NBDC) and the Database Center for Life Science (DBCLS) is organising a BioHackathon in November 2018 in Paris.

Scope

The topics of this biohackathon will be broader than semantics and interoperability typically predominant in the BioHackathons organised in Japan.

The priority topics will be defined by ELIXIR Platforms, ELIXIR Use Cases and a selection of communities proposed by ELIXIR France. We specially welcome non ELIXIR members to join and work with ELIXIR partners on activities relevant for ELIXIR and the bioinformatics community in general. Though most of the topics of the BioHackathon are expected to be aligned to existing ELIXIR activities the BioHackathon will also be open to new tools and communities (eg. Cytoscape and reproducible networks)

Goals

Engage the technical people in the bioinformatics community inside and outside ELIXIR to work together on topics of common interest aligned to ELIXIR activities

Make more robust the interactions with new ELIXIR communities (e.g.  Metabolomics and Proteomics) to establish and reinforce collaborations through hands-on programming activities organised at the event.
