FAIR Training Working Group
The FAIR Training Working Group brings together experts and practitioners to improve how life sciences training material is created, shared and reused. Our aim is to make training material FAIR, so it can be discovered more easily, adapted to different contexts and sustained over time.
Developing high-quality training material is a challenging task that requires both time and expertise. Life science researchers benefit greatly from reusable training resources, because they support asynchronous learning, allowing content to be adapted for new courses and encouraging co-creation and collaboration.
Although the FAIR principles were originally designed for data and software, they are also relevant for training material.
However, implementing the FAIR principles in training material comes with challenges, particularly because of the diverse types of digital resources involved.
The FAIR Training Working Group focuses on supporting the adoption of FAIR principles for training purposes. We also promote idea exchange and sharing best practices on how to make training material FAIR.
