FAIRferm: FAIRifying microbiome–metabolome time-series data from food fermentation processes

FAIRferm improves metadata standards, interoperability and FAIR pipelines for microbiome–metabolome time-series datasets from plant-based food fermentation. Harmonisation across MGnify, MetaboLights and dbNP will enable cross-domain analysis and broader One Health applications. Selected fermentation datasets will be FAIRified and linked via BioSamples IDs, and new temporal analysis workflows will be added to the ELIXIR toolbox.

  • Harmonised metadata standards for multi-omics time-series datasets
  • FAIRified datasets submitted to ENA/MGnify and MetaboLights and linked via BioSamples
  • FAIR-compliant pipelines for microbiome–metabolome temporal analysis
  • Modular training resources and community uptake
  • Integrated cross-platform resource via dbNP enabling dynamic analysis and reproducible research
