On June 11th, Euro-BioImaging and ELIXIR published a joint collaboration strategy on image data to support access to biological image data and link it to biomolecular data. This collaboration is an important example of two European research infrastructures joining up their technical strategies, which they now look forward to implement in practice. Biological image data is a rapidly changing field and this collaboration strategy will be continuously updated as the two infrastructures develop and as their user needs change over the years.
Euro-BioImaging is the pan-European research infrastructure for biological and medical imaging. It is a distributed infrastructure that will provide open access to innovative biological and medical imaging technologies for European researchers. It will also provide training in imaging technologies and the sharing of best practice and image data.
