ELIXIR has strong representation in both life science projects selected in the second OSCAR’s open call: MultiCellML-TDR and FLEX4HEALTH.
OSCARS is an EU-funded project that brings together leading research infrastructures to strengthen open science in Europe. In this second call, a total of 12 projects from across different scientific areas and the humanities were awarded between €200,000 and €250,000.
MultiCellML-TDR aims to improve the FAIRness of computational models of multicellular biological systems. It references the following ELIXIR services: Identifiers.org (EMBL-EBI), FAIRDOMHub (ELIXIR Germany), FAIRsharing and WorkflowHub (both ELIXIR UK) and TeSS (ELIXIR UK and ELIXIR Estonia).
FLEX4HEALTH is supporting the scale-up of federated learning across sensitive health data sets. The project includes the development of the ELIXIR service MOLGENIS (ELIXIR Netherlands), by streamlining operations and data maintenance to raise the technology readiness level (TRL) from 5 to 7.
ELIXIR’s inclusion in both successful proposals from a competitive open call reflects the quality of ELIXIR services and the trust placed in them by the research community. ELIXIR also featured prominently in OSCARS’ first open call, where 7 of 58 selected projects were related to ELIXIR.
