ELIXIR Biodiversity, Food Security and Pathogens hybrid workshop

The ELIXIR Biodiversity, Food Security and Pathogens (BFSP) priority area team is organising its first hybrid workshop, with the in-person component taking place at the Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West. This lunch-to-lunch workshop starts at 12:00 CEST on Monday 20 April and ends at 13:30 CEST on Tuesday 21 April, concluding with a joint lunch with attendees of a related Cellular Molecular Research (CMR) workshop.

Workshop content

The workshop is for the BFSP leadership team, contributors to ongoing BFSP projects (awarded through open calls) and anyone in ELIXIR with an interest in shaping the current and future BFSP work programme. Main topics include:

• Updates from funded BFSP projects
• Funding and collaborations at European Commission and national level in the BFSP area
• BFSP strategy going forward
• The BFSP 2027–2028 work plan

Participation

In-person attendance is limited; virtual participation is unlimited. Accepted in-person participants will receive funding covering travel, one night of accommodation and on-site catering (two lunches, coffee breaks and one dinner). This event is open to ELIXIR members only. 

If you wish to join in person, please register your interest during the registration period. Expressions of interest will be reviewed by the BFSP co-leads, considering BFSP work-plan membership/leadership, Node representation, member engagement and expertise across ELIXIR. Notifications to accepted and funded in-person participants will be sent no later than 6 March 2026. Please do not book travel until you receive confirmation.

Anyone not selected for in-person attendance will be invited to complete virtual registration, which will remain open until shortly before the event (see deadlines below).

Travel and venue

Once notified of in-person attendance, participants should arrange their own travel. Accommodation for one night has been pre-reserved at the event venue for all in-person attendees.

The nearest airport is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). You can get to the hotel direct by train from Schiphol and from Amsterdam Centraal.
